Recreation on Missouri Rivers Threatened

Posted in: Spotlight- Apr 04, 2016 No Comments

Proposed legislation-HB 2405 threatens the recreation and other uses of Missouri’s rivers. This legislation will remove access of adjacent lands, including sand and gravel bars to the low water mark of Missouri’s rivers and streams.  Currently individuals can access adjacent lands to the high water mark.  It also deems all waterways unnavigable unless determined and designated navigable by a Missouri court.  We encourage you to learn more about this legislative bill and voice your opinion to your Missouri Legislators.   Read more about this issue in the West Plains Daily Quill click here.rights

Experiences like this are being threatened by HB 2405, sponsored by Missouri Representative Robert Ross.
