Director’s Farewell

Posted in: Spotlight- Aug 05, 2017 No Comments

It has been my honor to serve as the Executive Director of Stream Teams United for the last seven years and be a part of its growth and expansion.  In addition to providing the day to day needs of a non-profit, I was excited to get to work on expanding the organization in a variety of ways.  From developing statewide educational programs such as the Missouri Clean Marina Program to telling the story of the Stream Team Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring data through the State of the Streams report, it was such a rewarding effort to be a part of.

In addition to program implementation, diversification of funding was a top priority to ensure future growth of Stream Teams United.  It was both fun and challenging to organize and implement efforts such as the River Pearl Event, She Weeps theatrical event, Stream Team license plate program, and more recently Paddle Mo-a 5 day 100 mile journey down the Missouri River.  These efforts in conjunction with many more gave the organization more stability and opened opportunities for growth in the advocacy realm.  Advocacy is one of the three goals of the Stream Team Program and over the last couple years we have been able to lay the foundation to enable and unite the voices across the state for water.  It has been so very exciting for me to watch the advocacy program grow within Stream Teams United.  As I move into a new role on my professional path, my hope is that the voice for water will continue to grow louder and stronger.

It has been my pleasure to work with Brooke Widmar, a natural leader and dynamic passionate individual over the last couple years in her role as Executive Assistant at Stream Teams United.  I am so very excited to announce that Brooke’s role has elevated to the Operations Manager position at Stream Teams United. Brooke will be overseeing daily non-profit operations, as well as assisting with multiple statewide projects, such as the Clean Marina program, Paddle Mo event, and the waste tire disposal project.  I feel confident that Brooke will continue to excel in her work and lead Stream Teams United to many new successes in the future.

My sincere thanks to all those involved and engaged with the Stream Team Program, your efforts and passion for such a precious resource continue to inspire me.
